Champions aren’t made in the gyms. Champions are made from something they have deep inside them – a desire, a dream, a vision. – Muhammad Ali

About

2nd September 2016

new_headHi there. Welcome to my website. My name is Cecil Phillip. I believe life is about the experiences we have, the relationships we build, and how we grow from them. Being born and raised in the Caribbean, I developed a love for good food, nature, for swimming but also for people. Empowering others with the tools to achieve their goals has always been an extremely gratifying experience for me. I’ve always tried to be a guide, a teacher and a mentor to others whenever I can. Maybe there’s something I can help you with.

I’m a Software Developer that’s very passionate about the solutions I create. I approach each project with the same drive for quality and success whether their my own or for a client. My specialty has been building Web based solutions with .NET technologies such as ASP.NET MVC / WebAPI, SignalR, and a Entity Framework. I’ve also worked with other tools such as git, AngularJS, KnockoutJS, Node.js and various message queues. Throughout my years creating software, I had the opportunity to work in various industries such as education, entertainment, finance, pharmaceuticals and others. Building software solutions is something I enjoy whether for fun, profit or charity. You can find me sharing my knowledge in the community at various user groups and technology events. Check out some of the presentations I’ve given on my Speaking page.

I enjoy talking to people and listening to their stories. Living on an island, you’ll have an endless supply of stories to listen to. You know who else has great stories to tell? The people that create the technology we use everyday. My friend Richie and I started a podcast in 2015 called Away From the Keyboard, where we interview folks from different areas of the technology industry. We get to talk to them about everything fitness, entrepreneurship, cooking, space and so much more. Make you check us out on iTunes or Stitcher Radio.

Feel free to connect with me on Twitter or Google+ or HashNode.
